After receiving rave reviews at various film festivals across the globe, Varun Grover’s directorial debut film All India Rank is all set for a theatrical release on 23 February. Grover unveiled the poster for the film and made the announcement regarding the release date during his performance at Kommune’s spoken word event Spoken Fest yesterday. The comedian also dropped the trailer earlier today on Instagram, finally giving the people a glimpse of his much-anticipated film.

Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal shared the trailer of the film on Instagram as well. “โ€œHum dono engineers ka cinema ki duniya mein safar lagbhag saath hi shuru hua withโ€ฆ Masaan, (Both of us engineers began our career in the film industry around the same time with Masaan.)” he wrote in the caption. โ€œ’Saala yeh dukh kaahe khatam nahi hota bey!’ (โ€˜Why does the suffering never end!โ€™) A line written by him has over the years evolved to be one of the most noteworthy scenes of my filmography so far.โ€

The two-and-a-half minute long trailer gives us a taste of what to expect from the semi-autobiographical coming-of-age drama set in the late โ€™90s. Starring Bodhisattva Sharma, Samta Sudiksha, Shashi Bhushan, Geeta Agrawal and Seema Chaddha, the film chronicles the life of a 17-year-old boy preparing for the high-pressure IIT entrance exams and the various hardships he has to face along the way.
