Channelling his first-bencher energy Vir Das is adding one more feather to his hat—this time making his debut as an author. The International Emmy award-winning comedian is releasing his memoir titled The Outsider: A Memoir For Misfits, he announced on Instagram.
According to the synopsis available on Amazon, the book includes anecdotes from his time at boarding school, growing up in Africa and his journey as a standup comedian and actor. Das has also touched upon the infamous Two Indias controversy which got him “cancelled by an entire country” and the recognition he received for winning an International Emmy for Netflix special Landing.
Beyond giving us the outline of his life and career, The Outsider serves as blueprint for anyone who recognise themselves as a misfit and how they can make it their identity.
Published by Simon & Schuster, the memoir is available for pre-order and will be released around 4 November, 2025.
