Some reunions make you cry. Others make you snort-laugh at 2x speed. Tanmay Bhat and Rohan Joshi just brought back the Honest Series—the cultural reset that shaped Indian YouTube comedy—with a Diwali twist for the brand Noice. And just like that, an entire generation of millennials collectively went, “Wait… is this really happening?” The video, which also features comedian Aishwarya Mohanraj, feels like opening a time capsule full of inside jokes and pure, chaotic truth.
For the seven of you who are uninitiated: Long before reels had taken over our attention spans and brand collabs were what creators dreamed of, there was AIB—breaking down Indian life with brutal honesty and unmatched timing. These sketches weren’t just comedy. They were a mirror held up to every absurdity we’d quietly accepted. AIB’s videos are so ingrained in every Indian millennial’s existence that on most days people in office are heard quoting Honest Bars & Restaurants, Honest Indian Flights or singing their version of Boulevard of Broken Dreams. (We’re slowly converting the Gen-Z too, one ‘Haila, mera g**nd phat gaya’ at a time).
This comeback might not have been the ideal one. We’ve only got 50 percent of the founding members and it’s a little too short. But we’ll take what we’re getting for now. Since it’s dropped we’ve binge-watched the entire Honest Series once again, one more time. We suggest you do the same or you might experience severe withdrawals.
