DeadAnt Weekly Roundup features the best standup comedy videos and vlogs released on YouTube in the last week.

Spread the love

Hey. Psst. Do you want some fresh YouTube maal? We’re back with another DeadAnt Weekly Roundup, just for you.

Gaurav Kapoor takes a break from vlogging and treats us to a fresh set about dating apps. Vivek Samtani copes with his breakup with his furry companion and Sapan Verma opens up about the worst vacation he ever went on. Finally, we’ve got a teaser from Punit Pania’s upcoming comedy special No Country For Moderation, and one from Wanda Sykes’ fresh Netflix release I’m An Entertainer. So get cosy and hit that play button!

Gaurav Kapoor – JEEVANSATHI vs DATING APPS

Has Gaurav Kapoor pivoted to full-time vlogger? What started as a lockdown activity is still going strong two-odd years later. Now on the road, Kapoor has adapted the format to giving us behind-the-glimpses scenes of his time on tour. In his latest upload, Kapoor talks about finding love in a hopeless place, better known as the online dating world. Traditional matrimonial sites are the first casualty of this rousing 10-minute set. Thereโ€™s something inherently wrong about guy friends picking out a life partner for their buddy and Kapoor points that out hilariously in this clip. Dating apps arenโ€™t safe from the comedianโ€™s observations either. Kapoor has a lot to say about Tinder bios and we suggest you check it out yourself.

Vivek Samtani – Dogs

Vivek Samtani is the new comedian on the block. Heโ€™s been making waves in the YouTube space with hundreds of thousands of views per short clip. In his latest video, we get another dose of observational comedy with a hint of dark humour.ย

This one is about a dilemma Samtani finds himself dealing with. The comedian recently broke up with his girlfriend, just two weeks after they adopted a dog. Now heโ€™s living with this constant reminder of his ex. But well, Samtani is learning to heal and grow with his furry companion whom he shares some surprising similarities with. Keeping him company and giving him material? Talk about being manโ€™s best friend.

Punit Pania – Godzilla in India

Punit Pania is all set to drop his standup special No Country for Moderation this weekend. Leading up to the release, the comedian has been uploading little snippets to pique our anticipation and itโ€™s working. Pania has never been known to hold back on his political commentary and thatโ€™s precisely what we get in this teaser.ย

In the clip, Pania is talking about the possibility of Godzilla making a trip to India. Which city will the giant lizard take over? And what will happen to our media circus in the middle of this raid? Whatever it is, weโ€™re all going to get a holiday and thatโ€™s the point of all tragedies, right? Check out the full video to find out why being an astrologer is the worst job ever.

Sapan Verma – Worst Holiday Ever

One of Indian standupโ€™s OGs, Sapan Verma recently set up his very own YouTube channel and dropped a clip after nearly three years. We did get a glimpse of his standup chops on his Amazon Prime series One Mic Stand in the meantime, but this YouTube set is more in tune with his previous work which sits on EastIndia Comedyโ€™s YouTube channel.

Titled Worst Holiday Ever, Verma talks about travelling across Europe with his very Indian parents. It all started with the Spain tourism ad we know better as Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. The things that happen in that film are not parent-friendly to be very honest. How did Verma deal with it? Watch the video to find out!ย

Wanda Sykes – First Girl Crush

Wanda Sykesโ€™ second comedy special Iโ€™m An Entertainer released on Netflix two weeks ago. The comedian has cemented her place in the standup scene over her 25 year career and her latest hour showcases exactly how sheโ€™s managed to stay in the game for so long.

In this bite-sized clip from the special, Sykes tells the tale of her first female crush and the subsequent rejection which led her to date men for a long time. Watch this short-clip as the comedian reminisces about her college-days. If that whets your appetite for some more Sykes, check out the full special!
