We Hope You Love Vir Das, Because He’s Going to Be Everywhere in 2019

Spread the love

In 2019, Vir Das is going to be all over the place. Physically and, we can only imagine, mentally as well.

On 27 February, Das debuted on American TV (and Amazon Prime Video) with a role in ABC’s hour-long weekly dramedy series, Whiskey Cavalier, also starring Scott Foley, Lauren Cohan, Tyler James Williams and Ana Ortiz. He plays CIA agent Jai Dutta, wears a fuck ton of suits, and wants to know why you still haven’t seen it:

The Loved Tour

This month, Das hit the road again with a new hour, Loved, which is all about (*spoiler alert*) love, and which he will tour across India, Australia and the United States until May.

In March, Das also appeared on celebrity chat show Koffee With Karan for the season finale awards episode, much to everyone’s delightful confusion.

He also starts shooting for the sequel of the cult 2013 indie film Go, Goa, Gone. More zombies at a rave? Yes, please. The sequel promises to be “trippier”, and basically everyone’s just waiting for the next Babaji ki Booti to add to their playlists.

Aaaand he’s got a third top secret project with Netflix in the works already.

You’d think he’d use the few seconds left in his day ahead to stare at a wall or focus on his chakras or something, but no. Instead, he spent that time asking a lot of seemingly casual, hypothetical questions, which were not casual in the least. If you’re a fan, you may want to pay very close attention to these. Here’s one:

A 23-minute documentary promptly followed on his IGTV on 1 January.

Then came this one:

A Facebook events page followed, where people could sign up for the show, which was being taped for another top secret project.

And now he’s acting smart again:

ALRIGHT, VIR. We geddit. You’re a machine. You’re spearheading The Singularity yourself. Take ONE nap this year? No? K.

Watch this space for more updates on his packed calendar; we haven’t even gotten to his winter schedule yet.

And if you still haven’t watched it, his latest special Losing It has been waiting for your kind attention on Netflix since 14 December 2018.
