Hit play on this week’s DA Weekly Roundup for the best standup videos of the week!

Nishant Suri – Breakup & Dating Apps

After one long year, Nishant Suri is back with a brand new video on his YouTube channel. But we can’t blame the Comicstaan winner. Going by his latest video, titled Breakup & Dating Apps, the comedian was dealing with a very tough breakup. We’ve all been there, so cut the man some slack.

In the 12-minute clip, Suri first takes us through his relationship and the three years it has taken him to come to terms with the breakup. The comedian is also pointing out all the reasons why male friends are the worst when it comes to giving dating advice. Stick around till the end of the video to find out why Suri was banned from Bumble, the dating app.

Shamik Chakrabarti – Out of the FRIEND ZONE

Every Tuesday a local bar hosts karaoke night in Bandra West, Mumbai. Invariably, we end up going there every week as well. And if you’ve ever been to one of these karaoke nights fueled by copious amounts of alcohol, you’ll notice that 99 per cent of the people who get their hands on the mic are horrendous singers. If Adele knew what people were doing to her songs, she would never say hello from any side. Comedian Shamik Chakrabarti is tackling this phenomenon in the opening moments of his latest video.

The comedian has also stumbled upon a new measurement system which relies on animals and is making a case for why it’s imperative we’re honest with our friends. Check out the video now!

Punit Pania – Bollywood

Comedian Punit Pania has been riding the high of his successful debut special No Country For Moderation. The hour-long set was packed to the brim with Pania’s trademark political humour. But believe it or not, the comedian had recorded a much longer set, and this week he’s treated us to some of that bonus material.

In this 10-minute set, Pania is taking aim at one of India’s biggest obsessions—Bollywood. Indian cinema during the 90s was full of bad haircuts and worse performances. Ajay Devgn was the flagbearer of this movement. During this accurate roast of Bollywood, the comedian also weaves in some sharp political commentary.

Maria Bamford – I’d Occasionally Stage My Own Death

Maria Bamford is one of the top comedians we’ve ever seen. She’s known for her incredible voice control as she breaks out into different accents, her physical comedy and her incredibly dark sense of humour which tackles issues such as depression, anxiety, suicide, and mental illness. In case you’ve not seen her work over all these years, Comedy Central shared a quick tester of her material.

In this video, you get to know this comedy legend through nine jokes. Bamford talks about beauty standards in L.A., having a workplace nemesis and going to therapy as a child in this clip. Check it out now!

Rakesh Addlakha – Family Comedian

Comedians are used to seeing groups of 4-5 people coming out to watch them perform. Rakesh Addlakha on the other hand has some die-hard fans. The comedian has a group of 17 people out there in the audience of 40. That’s almost 50 per cent of the entire room. Naturally, the comedian chats with a few of them during this crowd work clip.

The comedian has an audience member whose name seems awfully similar to something you might find on the periodic table, a Candy Crush enthusiast and a die-hard foodie. Check out the video now!
