Joining the ever-growing list of podcasts hosted by stand-up comedians, the newly launched Kuch Bhi Podcast features Rahul Subramanian, Urooj Ashfaq and Rohan Desai as disgruntled co-hosts who “discuss problems (that don’t exist) and come up with ideas (that don’t make sense).” In episode one, they use their comedy chops to take aim at their greatest nemesis: books. Not a particular book or a specific genre, but books in general. Everything from the peculiar habits of readers to JK Rowling’s shoddy treatment of Dumbeldore’s death is dissected in this under-twenty minute pilot episode. As promised, the takeaways are for entertainment purposes only.

In a world where everything is now topsy-turvy and unusual, Kuch Bhi Podcast fits in perfectly. These concerns have never been addressed (or even raised!) but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t? In case you have a very specific grievance against books such as, I don’t know, the effect of books on pregnancy or the evil of gendered reading, the podcast is neatly divided into convenient sections. For an optimum listening experience, wait till 4:20 (AM or PM), and use headphones so that any books you have lying around don’t feel bad.
